The Steps to Hiring:

1. Assessing the Business

An employment professional will meet with you to discuss your staffing needs. Commonly, we find that employers want to reduce turnover, hire enthusiastic employees and find capable individuals.

We assess the job duties and the workplace to match the right candidate to the job.

2. Assessment and Education of Clients

The Supported Work team assess the GHS clients to learn their vocational interests and goals, their work and educational history and aptitudes. Some clients spend time in the Supported Work Classroom to improve their work and social skills to prepare for the competitive labour market.

Clients often participate in a number of unpaid work experiences and volunteer positions before moving to paid employment. These positions provide excellent on-the-job-training and help clients to explore career options.

3. Job Placement and Follow Up

After a job match is made, the employment professional can assist you with hiring and provide on-site training.

Whatever the case, we tailor our role to suit your needs. As the new employee becomes independent at their job, the employment professional will reduce their presence at the job site until no longer needed. We will always be available should problems arise or training for a new task is required. The employment professional will also provide disability awareness training for present staff at the business site.
