
The Discovery Team serves adults who are interested in developing skills and exploring the community through creative art, recreation activities and community volunteering. Clients are working towards goals in improved communication and self-expression, improved mobility and increased independence.
What kinds of activities take place?
- visual art-making including painting, drawing, sculpture and craft making
- music, movement & dance
- community volunteering
- using computers
- indoor recreation including bowling, swimming, tai chi, yoga
- outdoor recreation including hiking, biking and sailing
- aerobic exercise, strength training and physical exercise
- visits to special events in our community, natural areas, cultural centres
- sign language and other forms of augmentative communication
- mobility training
- anger management
