STARR recreation
Living an active life just makes sense - it makes us healthier and happier. But for STARR clients going to a gym or a pool can be an overwhelming experience. STARR staff make sure clients are able to participate in active living while providing the physical and emotional supports to make recreational activities fun and fearless. Some of the recreational activities clients do including horse riding at Victoria Riding for the Disabled, working out and swimming at Saanich Recreation Centres, line dancing at Fairfield Activity Centre (New Horizons), kayaking through Power To Be or sailing through Recreation Integration Victoria in partnership with the Disabled Sailing Association of BC. Clients can also be found singing and dancing at the Namaste Music Sessions or practising yoga and meditation in the GHS building.
