The Society was successful in its application to the Charlton Smith Foundation for funding that will permit the significant upgrade to the GHS website. We are very grateful to the Foundation for this contribution – the benefits of which will be experienced in a variety of ways as our new website will be able to do justice to the Society’s growth and development.



  Butchart Gardens Kicks Off Fundraiser with $5000 - Nov 2007
The Dreambuilder’s Luncheon to benefit the ArtWorks Expansion was launched in a grand style when a significant donation was announced by the Butchart Gardens. This generous contribution from a long-time supported of the GHS went a long way in helping to achieve our dream of an expanded ArtWorks. Our sincere thanks to Butchart Gardens!

Diana Lockyer’s involvement in the Society goes back to the mid 70’s with her support of the work of Garth Homer in setting up the centre. Diana passed away at the age of 93 in December 2006. We are grateful for her remembering the Society with this generous donation.



  RBC Grant Benefits Computer Resource Centre - September 07
Every year for the past 7 years the Computer Resource Centre has benefited from the Royal Bank Volunteer Grant program that long time Computer Resource Centre volunteer Doug Henley is eligible for. This year’s grant purchased a touch screen which will greatly enhance access to computers for many of the people supported by the GHS.
